1.How should I store and bring on Plum stones to maximise their chances of germination? 2.What would cause carrots to grow like a bunch of gnarled up tree roots?
I planted out very mature Sprouting Plants last Saturday and about 25% of them have this on them.I have brought it around to thg local Garden Centres and they have never seen it. Do y0u know what it is and do I need to do anything about it?It is speading very quickly in the infected plants. I am assuming that these JPG files have made it through to you.If not it is a cream coloured blemish on the topside of the leaf but going all the way through. It looks like a number of maps on the leaf.
I have 3 Buddleia bushes which appear not to have survived a combination of an untimely pruning by me and the freeze. There is absolutely no growth on them. Can I fairly safely assume that they are dead?
I sowed Sprouting Broccoli(Early Purple) indoors earlier in the year and put the seedlings out in the ground in a seedbed. They are now getting seriously big and will very soon be too big to transplant. The seed packet was talking about July or August for permanent positions.I don't think I can wait very much longer. Can I move them to permanent positions now?
I have about 30 healthy Asparagus(Connovers Collosal) seedlings but I don't have a permanent bed ready for them. The seedlings are now about 10 weeks old.Is it possible to plant them temporarily(possibly but not necessarily until next year),allow the crowns to develop and them plant them on permanently.I suppose the question I am asking is the same as "How do nurseries produce their one year crowns)?303Could I even just pot them on in bigger pots and park them until the bed is ready, hopefully in a month(maybe two) or so or could I even leave them in the small pots for that lenght?44Some of them are in these very small peat pots.
I have a small fern area with 2 year old plants. They had been doing very well.3 of them were severely damaged during the freeze and at least one of them looks dead. Will they come back of their own accord? What can I do to help them? Do you need more information? John Cullen
