I'm making leaf mould with sycamore leaves that have tar spot in plastic bags (with a few holes in the sides). Is it likely that the temperature will be high enough to kill the spores? If not, can I still use the leaf mould for young trees and shrubs?

I want to store my Dahlia tubers, which have been growing in the herbaceous borders, indoors over winter in pots. I read that they should be placed in Peat or sand but I'm wondering if I could use Multipurpose Compost instead? My long term plan is to put them back out in a coldframe in March/April before planting back out in the borders as young plants in late May/early June.

I make leaf mould every year. The leaves are mainly sycamore and have black spots. When planting a new Acer earlier this year I applied some of the leaf mold. Will this have an adverse effect on the Acer? Can I continue to make leaf mould with leaves that have the black spots?
