I have lupin in my glasshouse grown from seed which I never planted out as it was too late. What should I do with these for the autumn?
Gerry, as were in Autumn, I have a lot of geraniums in the green house, starting to develope mould. Do and should these be pruned back and if so how? Also, should I prune fushia and Rose trees now? If so, how far back?
Gerry,Hello again. I have a number of questions so will send separately. My uncle currently wishes to rotate/turnover his back soil patch now the rubob is nearing the end of its growing season. He has a problem with running climbing weed. Basically an ivy type weed that grow on to anything it attaches itself to, with rampent roots that grow under the soil, spurting up fellow shoots. How and what is the best way to tackle this weed, ie, killing it/.It being impossible to take up every trace of the running root. is there sprays?
Gerry, My law is currently a little yellow from last cutting and with a dog, it is inevitable that it will get very mucky come winter. Is there any prep work I can do with it for the winter season, promoting growth? It is the laid lawns first winter.Darren
Gerry,I recently wrote to you regarding my Angels trumphets which were pot bound. My now question is, as you mentioned, although pot bound, if cut back and protected from frost, they will last nexst year if planted into the ground. How do I cut them back, i.e. where and how far back? Also, as they are potted, would it be ok to leave potted and in my green house until spring, once prunned? Thanks Darren
Gerry,They grew particularly well, albeit slow. Having moved them from glass house to garden troughout the summer as warm weather was inconsistent. Also, I planted them up in the pictured large pots. While they could not be potbound, recently the leaves on them have become droupped and yellow, falling off. With new leaf stems jilting out where the leaves older leaves met the stem, Im just a little concerned of the current rate of wilting. The buds of flowers appear healthy with five on the one pictured. Can you advise?ThanksDarren
