is there any help ican give a griselina hedge that lost alot of leaves this winter a nd is now making a slow recovery

Can anything be done to save young Olearia shrubs that have become waterlogged due to the bad weather I had intended that they would act as wind breakers The soil is very heavy so slow draining.

recently picked onions have a little milldew on the inner skin what has caused this . I suppose there is no cure for this year . How can i prevent this happening next year?
