I was up to recently going to set some gold leylandii but have heard that it too got damaged by frost last winter! which is more frost hardy, laurel or gold leylandii? is it true you have to prune rather that use a hedgeg trimmers for laurel. how far apart would you set both?

I am about to set to boundaries of roughly 400ft of gold leylandii at 3foot intervals. my question is can i spray between them to kill weeds? if i get some weedkiller on the stem or leaves of the leylandii will it kill them.

Im planning to set some castlewellan gold leylandii to replace my dead hedge. i have cut down all the hedge to ground level but left the roots in. can i still plant the leylandii about 1foot in from the roots?

I recently cut all my escalonia hedge (frost damaged)down to the root( left roots in). Could you please advise on a good replacement, that grows fast and survies harsh winters. What about Gold leylandii-Castlewellan Gold ?
