I am looking to buy some type of bush or shrubbery for my in-laws for Christmas, preferably with white blossoms to shine in the moon, hence the moon garden. Any ideas for this time of year?

i want to plant an ornamental cherry but as i only have a very narrow bed against a south east facing wall, i think a cherry that can be trained against a wall would be best. i'd like a variety with dark reddish leaves and pink flowers if possible. could you suggest one?

Last Feb I planted a long Carpinus Betulas hedge using bareroot plants. It is growing well but this winter a minority of the plants have lost 100% of their leaves while the other plants have retained most of theirs. They all look identical to me but could they be different varieties? I want screening in Winter so should I replace the plants which lost leaves or will they 'grow out' of this problem if I leave them alone?

I have recently done up my back garden. Prior to this it was a forest of weeds and ivy. There was always 1 weed which grows up to nearly 6 feet, I used to chop down every few weeks, but it would grow back to the same height again within 5 or 6 weeks. I have been unable to identify it, so therefore i didnt know how to kill it off. It is now coming up through my new lawn. Would you be able to identify it from the pictures below (which is it only as a shoot), and maybe tell me how best to eradicate it?

A flower meadow has been sowed 2 years ago. This year we only had one type of flower (daisy). The worst problem is perenniall weeds. How can we eradicate them?
