Recently I took a few cuttings from my plants in the garden. The cuttings themselves had some roots attached.I potted them up and watered and placed them in a make -shift cold frame.Question: Is this Cold frame idea a good way of trying to grow plants and if so what procedures should I take in order to maintain healthy plants?

I'm a complete beginner at growing veg and the site has been great help. I've got some sugar snap peas growing and they're about 1ft high but they're starting to flower already. Is this normal, I thought they might grow a lot taller before they start this?
I have put fertiliser/moss killer combination on my lawn and the moss is gone all black. I'm afraid I have a lot of moss so lots of black areas, I want to know what to doafter I scrape it out? Do I just throw on some grass seeds or dO I have to dig out those areas or what?
It will be three weeks next Thursday since I had a turf lawn laid in my back garden. I have been watering it twice a day, however parts of it have grown better than others. Is this normal. I would also know as to when I would give it the first cut and how high should I raise the lawnmower. It's a petrol lawnmower. I have been told that feeding and weeding should be done at the end of the summer season, please let me know if this is true.
I want to create a bed in front of a retaining wall (west facing). There is room for 30 cm soil before concrete foundation underneath. Can that be enough to plant shrubs such as Choisya/Berberis/Pittosporum if soil prepared properly? I want to avoid a raised bed and container planting if possible.
