Crocosmia has taken over my garden. Pulling up the bulbs seems to encourage it. Has it become another invasive species in the west of Ireland? What''s the best way to get rid of it? I use old carpets to smother weeds but would need acres of it to get rid of this pest.

I downsized to a smaller house 4 years ago. My garden is a raised bed going fully around end house. One side just gets morning sun. Other side then gets sun later in day, I am so disappointed this year. All my clematis have wilted and gone rotten. I seem to have no colour.. Can you recommend some plants I could sow for colour in shaded garden.
