We are currently infested with black flies with quite thin bodies and long dangly body parts. How do we get rid of them? They're pretty horrible.

I have a tree peony about 3-4ft high which has about 3 flowers on it. It is positioned in a south facing border with little or no shelter-is this the best position for it? I have another one for years and it is north facing and very sheltered and not doing very well?

I have a lovely white Camassia coming into bloom soon.It has about 14 flower stems.Should I divide it after flowering or when. Am I right in thinking that there are tuberous/bulbs?

You just answered my question about potato drills and spraying for weeds.I also have other drills with carrots, onions, lettuce, radishes, cabbage etc. These also have not yet surfaced and have weeds. Can these drills also be sprayed with Weedol? Thanks.

Strawberry leaves look like they have been shredded, torn , or "flittered"Initially I thought this might be due to severe hailstones, but now am not sure. Some leaves on rose bush affected also. Peas look to be affected also.Hailstones did lodge for some time on peas.
