Is it possible to grow sweet potatoes in Ireland? In poly tunnel or outside?
I have been growing strawberries for about 12 years but have moved house 2 years ago and i have had serious problems with vine weevil. The first year i noticed the weevil i hand picked all the grubs from the pots and repotted all the plants but the crop was still poor. I have tried growing them in the Poly Tunnel but the weevil still get to the plants. I have passed some plants to my neighbours and theirs have done very well. I am left with one healthy plant! Do you have any suggestions?
I have a large wet area on my lawn and I am currently draining it and this morning after all the rain the trenches seem to be working although i have no pipe or stone in yet.All the grass is dead from water lying on the ground all winter. The problem is the soil is very poor and the tracks left by my ride-on mower were still full of water right next to the drains as the soakage is bad. Will using builders sand fill in these tracks mixed with a little moss peat (sprinkled with grass seed later) or will it just cake into a cement like substance?I was then planning on aerating the soil when i have all done. Regards, Brad
Italian rye grass is rapidly taking over our lawn. Lawn size approx half acre it would be a massive job to redo the lawn and we would rather not have to take this on. have you any other suggestions? It looks really bad.
We have approximately 250 meters of laurel hedging and would like to keep it grass and weed free underneath, its planted one year and was 4ft tall planted. Is Casoron suitable?
We are at the end of an estate and have quite a bit of ground beside us. We are currently in the process of setting our lawn and were opting for a hedge as well as a boundary for same. Have you any recommendations/advise as we are complete novices??
