I have a problem with several cats using my flower bed at the front of my house as a toilet. What can I do to prevent this.
I have just invested in two new apple trees, Discovery and Katya, also have an old unproductive tree.when should I spray and with what? have sulphate of phosphate to feed in next few days .thanks
I would love to grow vegetables but my garden is too small is there another way to grow them.
I planted a fatsia last year which appeared in good condition. Since it started to establish it is beginning to look more like a "Swiss cheese plant" rather than a Fatsia. Why would this have happened and can I do anything to reverse the trend.
Hi Gerry, I am about to purchase and plant trees in my new garden (approx 1 acre). It is my intention to plant Mountain Ash along the drive, and some other ornamental trees along the perimiter e.g., Cherries and Silver Birch (White Bark) etc. My question is how far apart should I plant these trees?
Within a few weeks of repotting my orchids (phalaenopsis) they were infested with small black flies. The flies are very small and seem to die off after a number of days.To try and control the pests I disposed of the 'infested' potting compost and repotted the orchids in a new compost. Before repotting I washed the leaves and roots with water. Unfortunately the flies came back after about two weeks and have multiplied rapidly.Can you suggest any insecticides that should be used? Should I repot the plants again but this time wash the plants with insecticide?
