I have trawled through the web looking for York Cabbage seeds - the family favourite. We usually buy the young plants, but this year I was hoping to grow from seed, and save seed for following years. Is it possible to buy York Cabbage seeds, and where might I find them?

We have 2 mature pink C/Blossom Trees about 30 Ft tall planted about 10 ft apart, with a combined canopy spread of about 40Ft. 3 Root systems are very much above the lawn and continually catch the mower . The grass under the canopy has all but disappeared with a lot of moss. The trees are about 14 ft from the front of the house, but I have kept the branches away from the house by cutting those growing in that direction, but the Tarmacadam drive mosses up anyway. The trees were mature when we purchased the house 15 years ago and their spread continues to get wider. Can they be dramatically pruned, - reduce height and cut back the spread as well as remove the protruding root system?Have they a limited life expectancy? They are non fruit bearing-we think:-)Kind Regards parttimegardener

Dear Gerry, I have inherited an overgrown garden. My question is in relation to a line of hawthorn trees that i believe was once a hedge. What, if anything, can i do to prune these trees back into shape. The trees are spindly and in some cases the tree trunks are 2m before the first branches. I believe they were competing with snowberry bushes and ivy. Thanks ,ihaggan

Hello Gerry.I have two large hebes in the garden and both of them are looking awful. The branches are drooping heavilyy and the leaves are brown and shriveled. Could this be frost damage or is it something else? Thank you Alison

My tomatoe plants grew all right, but didn't produce any fruit. I think I confused trusses with leaves and cut off the wrong thing?
