Hello Gerry,I was given a present of a vine about two and a half years ago. I was told to put the root outside the greenhouse and bring the rest of the plant inside. This I did. How long will it take before I can get fruit from it? Has there been an article in the IRISH GARDEN? I have almost every issue since it first came out.Dick Roche

My neighbours cat has been scratching one of my trees in my front garden and the bark is pretty much gone from the tree now. How can I stop the cat doing this? Does bark need some treatment now? What can I put on tree to prevent it in future? Many Thanks.

Hi Gerry, I have been looking for a plant known as "Mother of Thousands" Saxifraga Stolonifera.tricolour. Can you recommend a garden center that might stock it or could it be available by mail order? I have tried National Garden Center in Kilquade; Johnstown Garden Center and some local ones without success.Any pointers would be greatfully apreciated.Paul

Hi, I have three oak saplings growing in a single pot. I sowed them as acorns 2 years ago and they are now very tall (tallest is about 4 foot) with lots of big leaves but they are quite slender.I was wondering when to plant them out - I am in a very open area and it can get quite windy. Should I risk it or split them into seperate pots and leave them for another while ? Thanks
