I have a 10yr old yucca. It was repotted approx.4yrs ago. I put it out on my deck for 2 weeks a year ago. Although the new growth is perfect the bottom leaves are turning brown and this brown is eventually making its way up the leaves. Could it have been infected outside os should I just dump it as the old leaves are very unsightly.

I have a garden that is very overgrown with shrubs of all sorts i.e. flowering shrubs and shrubs that look like they will stay green/yellow for the whole of the Winter. I wont be able to do anything with it until the first week in September (just bought the house), can I cut back the shrubs by a third when they stop flowering or do I have to wait for the leaves to fall off I'm not sure if they do fall off? Can I give them a good cutting in January because they make the garden look small, its deceiving.

Hi Gerry,Last week, knowing that rain was on the way after the dry spell, I fed all my shrubs and trees an organic fertiliser, it didn't say it was specific to soil type. After the rain and now a week later, the leaves on the beech trees (5 yrs old) are going yellow / brown working from the root up. All other trees and shrubs are thriving - any advice? Many thanks in advance!

We have a serious problem with the weed 'horsetail' bursting through our tarred driveway. I have tried bruising the stem and using roundup etc but no luck in getting rid of it.Have you any ideas on other weed killers I can use that would work without damaging the tar.
