Gerry, in your 'lawn' pages there is nothing about airing the lawn. Is that something that is not needed, or not necessary or perhaps even damageing? What machinery is used (the surface of my lawn is too large for forking):Real aerators (making holes) are hard to get around here. Another tool might be a 'scarifier' (making cuts through the sod), or is there some other? Thanks , Fons

I have just noticed that a young hawthorn Paul Scarlett has a portion of bark missing from the bottom of the trunk. It measures about 6 inches long by about 1 inch wide. What animal could have done this can the tree survive?Is there anything i should do now? Regards ,Bobbi

I have a Bay Tree in a large container. It has been doing well until the last month. It has now got little brown scaly lumps under the leaves and a lot of the inner leaves near the trunk have turned yellow. Do you know what is causing this?
