During the high winds last weekend a garden chair fell on to a pot of lilies breaking off three of the six healthy stems. Assuming that these will never flower as their nourishment has been removed should I, when growth has died back, try to remove the bulbs. Many thanks.

HiI've noticed a substance like a spiders web along the edges of the leaves on my strawberry leaves. I did get some strawberries but only a couple, and that was a while ago. No more have appeared. I'm growing the plants in my conseratory along with tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers. Is this something that could be spread to them? One other question. When the tomatoes stop producing fruit in August, what do I do with the plant i.e do I have to keep it maintained all during the winter or do I cut it back?Keep up the good workJinks

I have a driveway lined with approx 200 7 year-old oak trees. They are planted only 2-3 feet apart and are now between 8 and 12 ft in height. What do you suggest I do at this stage? Are they too close to mature properly and should I remove say, four of every five? Is it feasible to transplant this number of trees or is it too daunting a job? Can you give advice on pruning lower branches to facilitate the lawn-mower? Many thanks!

Hello gerry, i have a split-level garden at the back of my house with ten foot in the difference of the two. I have plans for a patio with a stream for the top section cascading down into a pond in the bottom garden but was wondering what are the costs of running such a set up ,are these pumps heavy on electricity as I have to pump the water 12 feet up vertically from the pond and a further 12 feet across to the starting point of the stream. I moved into this house 4 years ago and there was a rose bush outside, i don't know how many years its been there, it is beautiful but i think it could be a climbing rose, it has grown very tall, it is a bit exposed and has no shelter, i have put bamboo sticks and gardening tape around it but with the wind it is still breaking, i have a shed outside with a flower bed in front of it and wondered would it be better protected there growing against a wall, if l wait and move it in october when i cut it back would i damage the rose bush if it has been in that spot for years, i have only discovered gardening this year and am really only a beginner and don't want to ruin the rose bush, thanks
