Hello Gerry. The tomato plants in my greenhouse were fine at 12pm today. Only seven hours later, all the plants have some leaves covered with translucent patches. It looks to me (a novice!) as if they were scorched where they had been wet, but I am careful never to wet the leaves when I water the plants. Can you tell me what it might be, what I should do, and whether you think the plants will recover OK and produce fruit? Thanks in advance.
I have waited 7 years for our garden and we finally have it - or at least the blank canvas. However, we didn't have to wait so long for a stray dog to wander in and my kids to fall in love with it.The dog is in situ and this is my first year to see a little progress from newly laid shrubs and trees. NOW THE DOG IS CHEWING AND EATING THEM. Is there a spray or anything to use as a deterent ? Please help
Hi Gerry, I have a very large steep bank in my back garden and it is very difficult to maintain so over the past 5 years we are just letting ivy grow over it, which acts as ground cover and prevents weeds growing on it. I was just wondering if you could recommend anything that might kill weeds, sticky backs, thorns, etc on the bank but no harm the ivy? Many thanks
Hi Gerry, I was reading the jobs to do in May ,I was wondering what spray to use on my apples and pear trees. The blossoms are already on the trees ,so would it be allright to spray them.hope to hear from you soon . Rosemarie.
planted 3 trees, apple, pear, plum last year. apple fruited, maybe dozen, v small, fell early. No great hopes for fruit, planted mainly for interest, fruit bonus. If left alone, not pruned etc. will they grow ok? Pear well flowering, apple starting, plum just leaves. Beside the sea, both sides, and garden high and fairly exposed.
