I have a sort of wild self seeding St Johns wort shrub, grows about 4/5ft or so high with thin wood branches lovely yellow bell fluffy flowers blooming at the moment, new shoots grow all over the place. Dont know what its called. Can you identify? And if so, can you tell me if the roots smell good as my dog is digging up the garden all over the place to get down to the roots (i think) It was handy as when i wanted to remove the unwanted bushes I pulled it up easily, the roots don't seem to go down very far. Its a lovely shrub but does spread everywhere. the wasps love it.
I put a fuchsia into a pot to grow as it wasn't doing well in the ground. its in flower now and outgrown the pot. Can i move it now? into ground or new pot? or should i wait until the flowering stops later in the year?
I have valerian growing absolutely everywhere destroying the dash on my walls by huge roots growing behind, its a weed to me although bees love it and colour is lovely. Is there any way to keep this plant in check? I've found it impossible to kill the roots. i don't want to kill it all but would like to be able to control it a bit. grateful for any suggestion. thanks
