Hi GERRY,With Spring in the air, I was out back today getting garden started for Spring. We have a trelis acting as a shade for privacy from next door, however, it has nothing growing up it. We have large, (very large) pots along the wall for plants/trees.My question is, can you recommend anything that is quick growing and quite bushy to act as a shade for privacy. Something like a conifer type plant even... I want to be able to keep the plants in pots so I can prune rather then grow up treslis and so into next garden.Looking for something for the summer.. Thanks Darren

I grew the pictured Angels Trumphet from seed last year, and with the winter, it did die....I have not over watered it during winter.Im just wondering, is it dead or will it come back in Spring and if so, what I should do?

As we now hopefully see the end of the bad weather, I was out in my garden this week to see that my geraniums/fushias have been particulary hit with the bad weather. Appearing totally lifeless/dead. My question is will they come back or will I need to start from scratch? At 27 and a gardener for over 15 years, I/they have not experienced such cold before.

Gerry, I was wondering, is now the best time to sow summer bedding for seeds?

Hi Gerry, I planted a number of seeds trays two weeks ago today, and made the error of re-using some potting compost that I had in other trays that I used over winter, which had developted an algae/moss growth on top. As a result, a number of my trays contain the re-appearance of this alage like growth. The trays contain Lobelia and Antherinthums with another containning Geraniums. The Lobelia, sowed on surface, appear to be germinating. However, Im not sure how the algae growth will affect them, or with future watering what will happen. Can you advise Thanks Darren
