I am looking for advice on what plant to use. The job I want it to do is hang down and cover a wall from top to bottom. I was going to put planting boxes on a wall and allow a flower to grow down out of the box and eventually cover the wall. The wall is roughly 1 metre in height. I was thinking Ivy, any suggestions?

I planted boston Ivy rooughly about six to eight weeks ago. I planted a clematis at the same time further away from it. I planted them in the soil, with a trellis support. The area gets some sun and equal amounts of shade. My concern was with the clematis but is growing great but the ivy has had little or no growth since planting, The leaves look fine but any new growth is small and undeveloped. I read this was an aggressive hardy climer but I;m not sure what the problem is. Are there any must do's or dont;s when it comes to feeding / watering etc. The clematis is far enough away so not to intrude on the growth of the Ivy. Any help would be great.

I'm a bit new to growing herbs from seed but I planted some Basil, Rosemary and Thyme in small pots and placed them on my window indoors a few weeks ago. They seem to be going well but I'm wondering should I seperate the seedlings into seperate pots or just leave them develop in the pot together, there are quite a lot of seedlings now but I am afraid they may be a bit vulnerable if I start interupting them. I obviously have each type of herb seperate from each other so it is just a lot of the same type of seedling in each pot.

I planted a bishop of LLandaff last year and a bishop of York this year. The llandaff came back with a vengeance this year. My question is when do I need to seperate the bulbs? Do I wait for them to die off for the year or just stop flowering? Also my bishop of york is quite small as it was only planted this summer so do I leave it? Do I just store the tubers in a plastic bag for the winter and plant in spring?

My delphinium flowers are currently dying off and small green shoots are coming out of the fading flowers. It isn't the most attractive look but I am unsure whether it needs to be left alone or cut back, should i be expecting more flowers?

Just wondering if you could recommend some flowers that would be suited to potting. I am looking to fill three troughs roughly 150cm in length and am loking to display in partial shade. As much colour as possible is the aim as this is a rather glum area at the minute.
