Grisselinia hedge - well established - 8 years. No leaves at all at the moment and no sign of growth. Will this hedge recover or is it finished. It is a boundary hedge between our neighbours and I can now see through the hedge into their garden.

We built a new house 3 years ago. And while I decided at the time to go for an informal hedge of mixed shrubs. I find now that it is not working. I would like a hedge as a backgound to a shrub border. Would like to plant escalonia - but from what I have read iut will not grow too well in kildare. Am now thinking of cotoneaster. Would appreciate your advice.Poppy
