Hi Gerry. I planted 180 escallonia in October of which 40 appear to be dead or dying. There is some new growth on a few of them but not much. The leaves basically go brown,harden then die. Any ideas on this,as I thought these were hardy plants. I'm in a very windy area,and the soil is not great quality.
