Questions

I'm a total beginner when it comes to gardening. I planted a lavander shrub last summer and it now looks dead. i have been feeding it for the past few weeks but still no sign of any life, no new shoots just totally brown. Does this plant die back in the winter and come back or should i just dig it up and get rid of it Many Thanks Katie
