We have fruit trees, plum, pear, apple, morello cherry and sweet cherry. The plum has had lots of fruit over the last 5 years but didn't fruit this year and looks unwell, the pear hasn't ever fruited (5 yrs old) the fruit arrives but is blown off, the cherrys are good as are the apples. We would love to plant more trees and were thinking of hazel nut or some other edible nut, what would you recommend and how deep to plant them etc

We have a problem with trees browning and shedding lots of needles. We have Cypress (i think thats the name) trees on 3 sides of our house, they are probably 25-35ft high and are a great barrier against the weather. I am not sure when they were planted, we moved in 8 years ago and they were well established then. We haven't ever really watered them, the rain seemed to be adequate, but maybe because this year has been so dry and with the hard winter they seem to be suffering? Can you help with some advice?
