I have about 11 silver birch trees planted down my driveway and have noticed that some are losing their leaves already and some leaves are turning brown, is this normal. I planted them earlier in the year and have been watering them regularly during the warm weather.
I planted 3 apple trees and two pear trees last year. All are good except for 1 pear tree, the leaves have black/brown spots on them and the tree looks like it is dying. I water them regularly.
A friend arrived yesterday with about 10 black bags full of mature shrubs which includes heather, phormiums and a Lilac Tree. grasses etc. Her Aunt wanted them all gone as she is slabbing her garden and she could not bear for them to be destroyed. i have them in water in the bags and will be planting them this afternoon with the help of a mini digger. I know this is not the season for moving shrubs. Am I wasting my time, will they die?
I have a raised percolation area and it has grass and weeds growing on it. I would like to know is there anything I can plant on it that will have nice flowers and maybe take over from the grass. It has been suggested to plant a lawn there but I thought I would get some opinions on it. I have a good large lawn already only planted last year so my garden is only new (blank canvas!)
