This tree spent 2 yrs in a large tub then went in the ground, the surrounding hedge has grown almost as tall as the little tree now (about 3 feet tall) and I think it does not get enough sunlight anymore as it seems to have stopped growning. It is in its current position for about the last 3 years now and I don,t want to damage it as it was a special anniversary gift, any advice would be very welcome.

My 4 year old grisilinia hedge was badly damaged last winter but has new growth at the very bottom of each plant now, it's about 6 feet tall so how much of the old growth do I remove as the new growth so far is on the bottom 6 inches and from there up looks dead, totally brown and dry, all leaves shed.
